CLOREX Gel 2%
Introduction:
CLOREX Gel is an aqueous-based viscose gel containing 2% chlorhexidine gluconate used for root canal disinfection. Chlorhexidine gluconate is an effective agent against two existing species of bacteria and due to its antibacterial properties, this product is an optimal choice for root canal disinfection. It can also be used prior to dental cavities restorations, crown preparation and inlay, and to disinfect the hands of dentists and assistants and preoperative surfaces and equipment.

Indications:
►Preparation & disinfection of root canal systems.
►Re-treatment of canal systems infected by Enterococcus focalis and Candida albicans.
►Disinfection of tooth surface prior to direct restorative placement, crown cementation, and luting.
Instructions: (Endodontic Disinfection)
- After the final cleaning and shaping, irrigate the canal with 17% EDTA liquid (Canasol EDTA Solution).
- Rinse the canal thoroughly with sterile water and inject the CLOREX Gel into the canal.
- On subsequent visit, rinse the canal thoroughly using sterile water or saline, dry the canal with paper points and obturate.
Instructions: (Direct composite restorations &resin luted restorations)
- Clean the area and etch the surface to be bonded using H1 gel.
- After rinsing the etchant, dispense a small amount of CLOREX Gel and thoroughly rub for 60 seconds.
- Remove the excess gel. The tooth surface is moist and ready for bonding.
Composition:
Chlorhexidine Gluconate (2%), Glycerin, Deionized Water, Aqueous Vehicle, Mint Flavor and Food Grade Colorant.
Caution:
►Don’t use CLOREX Gel directly with Sodium Hypochlorite because of browny deposits which would be formed and hard to remove
►CLOREX Gel may interfere with the setting of tricalcium silicate (MTA) based obturating materials
►Avoid repeated contact with skin and eyes and prolonged inhalation
►Contact with the skin may cause irritation, burns or hypersensitivity.
If contact with skin occurs, immediately wipe off thoroughly with cotton and alcohol and then wash well with soap and water
►It should not be used with patients who have a history of severe allergic reaction to any of the components.
Storage Conditions:
Keep in a cool & dry place, out of reach of children at room temperature (between 15 to 25 °C). Close the cap carefully after use.
